Adopt-a-Reporter : Reaction

I read The Girl in the Window: part one (The Feral Child) by Lane DeGregory.
As reading through it I remembered parts that were stated about the conditions that the almost seven year old was in, but Lane's writing was way more descriptive and gave you a real vivid picture of it all.  Her use of similes were unique and made each step and process that went on the day that the police went to the house understandable.  For example when talking about the officer picking Danielle up from the moldy mattress that she lay on, Lane wrote "When he bent to lift her, she yelped like a lamb."  It showed the struggle.  Her writing made all of your emotions go in gear, the sadness, and the anger of situation, the outrage that you felt toward the family and the outrage and sadness of those at the house actually viewing the situation.  She does a great job of making you feel, and more aware of the reality of the terrible things that go on around us that go unnoticed and want to be more alert.

1 in 1000 - Proposal

Rydell Adams Blann:
A soccer player at LHS that takes a class working with students that have special needs.

I chose this person because I believe it is interesting that a "jock" takes a class to work with people that have special needs; it doesn't fit the stereotype. I think it's a good thing that he is doing, and hopefully by informing people it will encourage them to do something like it.

10 Q's:
1- How did you hear about the class?
2- What made you want to take the class?
3- What do you do in the class/activities?
4- What would you like to get out of the class?
5- So far, is that class what you expected it would be?
6- What are you're most memorable moments?
7- What have you learned so far?
8- What connections have you made, have you grown attached to anyone?
9- Will you pursue beyond and after this class to get involved?
10- Could you see yourself choosing to do something like this as a career choice?

Current Event - Google 13th Birthday

It was recently googles 13th birthday. This is worthiness because it reminds you how long it has been around and how far technology has come thus far. It has a high impact rate because it is used by billions of people. And very often, it is the worlds most used search engine on the worldwide web.  In 2010 they had a revenue of 29.321 billion.

The new thing made by google, that is starting to trend is google+.  It is getting the attention of some facebook users and switching which social network they use.  Some wish that it becomes the "new" facebook.
